Public votes don’t always turn out how we want, but we were more than happy with the latest TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.
Two of our favourite day-trip destinations, the mosque-cathedral at Cordoba and the fabulous Alhambra in Granada, were named in the top ten tourist landmarks anywhere in the world.
Cordoba’s mezquita, number six on the TripAdvisor list, is an easy one-hour drive from Cortijo La Presa. The Alhambra is just a little further, but is probably even more spectacular, with the mountains of the Sierra Nevada as a backdrop.
The Alhambra is at number eight in the TripAdvisor awards, which are based on reviews by tourists and travellers from all over the world.
The mezquita and the Alhambra are the best known attractions in Andalusia, but the region has plenty more. If TripAdvisor were to do a Spain-only list, we’re certain that Malaga, Seville, Priego de Cordoba and Antequera would all feature near the top.
